According to the Central Statistical Office (GUS), the average monthly salary in the enterprise sector in December 2024 was PLN 8,821.25 gross (at an exchange rate of PLN 4.23 per €1, this is around €2,085 gross), an increase of 9.8% compared to December 2023.
On the other hand, it has been awhile since the y/y salary growth was not a double-digit number. Since the beginning of 2022, this was the second time the growth was below 10% (last time in Dec 2023). During 2022-2024, the average salary growth has been between 9,5%-15,8%.
During 2015-2020, the salary growth was more moderate, varying between 2,7-7,7%.
In contrast, the average salary in Finland is € 4,140.
It is always fun to simplify - so putting Poland’s and Finland’s salary growths in the graph, we can see that the curves will meet somewhere in mid 2030’s IF the post pandemia speed continues in both countries and FX stays the same. Of course the reality is not that simple, but it shows how fast Poland is currently catching up.
